George et Harold sont les meilleurs amis du monde depuis la maternelle. Quand M. Bougon, le directeur de leur école primaire, les menace de les mettre dans des classes différentes, ils sont paniqués et croient qu'il s'agit là de la fin de leur amitié. George décide donc d'hypnotiser M. Bougon et de lui faire croire qu'il est désormais le Capitaine Bobette, un personnage issu d'une bande dessinée de leur création. À sa grande surprise, l'expérience est un succès et le directeur se transforme en superhéros. Celui-ci défendra donc l'école primaire lorsqu'un dangereux professeur de sciences menacera la sécurité des étudiants.
