20th Century Fox annonce pour le 4 août 2015, le film True Story en édition DVD et Blu-ray de Rupert Goold avec Jonah Hill, James Franco, Felicity Jones, Gretchen Mol, Connor Kikoat et John Sharian.
Des pistes sonores anglaise et française seront disponibles.
Après avoir été désavoué par le New York Times pour avoir falsifié les faits d'un article, le journaliste Mike Finkel se réfugie avec sa femme dans le Montana. Pendant ce temps, l'homme recherché Christian Longo, en fuite au Mexique, prétend qu'il est Finkel lorsqu'il est appréhendé par les autorités. Il est accusé d'avoir tué son épouse et ses trois enfants. Curieux d'en savoir davantage, le reporter prend contact avec lui. Longo lui propose de raconter sa version des faits en exclusivité en échange que Finkel lui apprenne à écrire comme un écrivain. Le journaliste est persuadé de son innocence, mais l'accusé ne lui dit peut-être pas tout?
