Ichabod Crane se réveille après un sommeil de près de deux siècles et demi. Il a traversé le temps avec un mystère qui date de l'époque des Pères Fondateurs de l'Amérique. Coincé à notre époque contemporaine, où la technologie a pris place et les moeurs ont évolué, celui-ci trouve une alliée inattendue en la personne d'Abbie Mills, lieutenant de police à Sleepy Hollow. Tous les deux ont un rôle à jouer dans les évènements qui se préparent, et une apocalypse à éviter.
