Paramount annonce pour le 13 décembre 2016, le film Ben-Hur (2016) en édition DVD et Blu-ray de Timur Bekmambetov avec Jack Huston, Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman, Nazanin Boniadi, Rodrigo Santoro et Sofia Black D'Elia.
Des pistes sonores anglaise et française seront disponibles.
Judas Ben-Hur et Messala ont été élevés ensemble et ils se considèrent frères même s'ils n'ont aucun lien de sang. En grandissant, Judas est demeuré auprès des siens alors que Messala s'est enrôlé dans l'armée romaine. Accusé d'avoir perpétré un attentat, Judas est envoyé comme esclave sur un navire de guerre. Pendant des années, il ne pensera qu'à retrouver sa famille et à se venger de Messala qui l'a trahi. Deux personnes calmeront toutefois ses ardeurs : Jésus de Nazareth qui lui apprendra le pardon et le Sheik Ilderim qui lui conseillera de rivaliser avec son ancien ami dans l'arène, lors d'une course de chars potentiellement mortelle.

BEN-HUR is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, the film also stars Rodrigo Santoro, Ayelet Zurer, Pilou Asbaek, Sofia Black D’Elia and Academy Award® winner* Morgan Freeman.
