Amazon - Burn Country

Sony Pictures annonce pour le 7 février 2017, le film Burn Country en édition DVD, réalisé par Ian Olds, il met en vedette Dominic Rains, Melissa Leo, James Franco et Rachel Brosnahan.

Une piste sonore anglaise avec des sous-titres en anglais et français seront disponibles.

Un journaliste afghan exilé dans le Nord de la Californie observe la vie locale, si éloignée de sa culture...

TORONTO, ON. (Jan. 20, 2016) – The award-winning mystery thriller BURN COUNTRY makes its eagerly anticipated debut on DVD and Digital February 7, 2017, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Canada and Samuel Goldwyn Films. Dominic Rains (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night) delivers a breakthrough lead performance in this suspenseful tale of an Afghan war journalist (Rains) who moves to a small town in Northern California, where he is drawn into a dangerous underworld of violence and crime.  Co-starring Academy Award® Nominee James Franco (Best Actor, 127 Hours, 2010), Academy Award® winner Melissa Leo (Best Supporting Actress, The Fighter, 2010), Rachel Brosnahan (The Finest Hours), and Thomas Jay Ryan (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), BURN COUNTRY was nominated for Best U.S. Narrative Feature and won the award for Best Actor in a U.S. Narrative Feature (Dominic Rains) at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. Now, crime and mystery fans everywhere can experience the movie Film-Forward called “beguiling…the Fargo vibe darkens with ‘Twin Peaks’ mystery” on DVD and Digital.

 

Synopsis: As a former “fixer” for journalists in Afghanistan, Osman (Dominic Rains) finds asylum in a small California town. Promised a job as a crime reporter for the local paper, and a home with his best friend’s mother, the town sheriff (Melissa Leo), Osman is ready to settle in. But, when the job falls through, Osman finds himself restless and looking for action. His attempts to get to know the area lead him to develop friendships with an elusive local actress, Sandra (Rachel Brosnahan), and a charming local troublemaker named Lindsay (James Franco). But, when a dead body turns up and Lindsay goes missing, Osman must face the possible evil lurking just beneath the surface and the depths of his new home’s darkness.

 

BURN COUNTRY was directed by Ian Olds (Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal NaqshbandiOccupation: Dreamland) and written by Olds and Paul Felten (Zeroville ). It was produced by Caroline von Kuhn (Like the Water) and Jennifer Glynn (Sex Ed). Executive producers are Robert Afshar, Kara Baker, James Franco, Gardner Grout, Vince Jolivette, Lisa Kleiner-Chanoff, Mary Regency Boies, Michael Roiff, George M. Rush, Eric Schultz, Gia Walsh and Alex Witherill.

 

It has a run time of approximately 102 minutes and is rated 14A.
