Réalisé par Kenneth Branagh, il met en vedette Kenneth Branagh, Tom Bateman, Judi Dench, Daisy Ridley, Leslie Odom Jr., Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Lucy Boynton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Derek Jacobi et Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

Alors que le célèbre détective Hercule Poirot est à bord du train de l'Orient-Express, un meurtre sordide est commis. Le directeur du train demande alors à son ami Poirot de mener l'enquête et de résoudre le crime avant l'arrivée des policiers. D'abord hésitant, le détective belge finit par accepter la mission. Rapidement, il constatera que tous les passagers sont des suspects dans cette affaire. Ils ont tous un lien, de près ou de loin, avec la famille Armstrong, qui a vécu un terrible drame il y a de cela plusieurs années. Cette enquête remettra en doute les valeurs les plus profondes du détective.
