20th Century Studios annonce pour le 15 mars 2022, le film West Side Story (2021) en 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray et DVD. Réalisé par Steven Spielberg, il met en vedette Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Rita Moreno, Corey Stoll et Brian d’Arcy James.

Des pistes sonores anglaises et française seront disponibles.

Deux gangs de jeunes se disputent un quartier de New York. Entre les Jets menés par Riff et les Sharks dirigés par Bernardo, les clans sont divisés sur des questions ethniques et culturelles. Au coeur des tumultes se trouvent Tony, un membre fondateur des Jets qui a pris ses distances avec le groupe, et Maria, la soeur candide de Bernardo. Lors d’une soirée dansante, Tony et Maria tombent amoureux au premier regard, créant une hostilité supplémentaire entre les ennemis. Les tourtereaux feront toutefois l’impossible pour empêcher les combats et le sang de couler.

Film Synopsis

Directed by Academy Award® Steven Spielberg, from a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award® winner Tony Kushner, “West Side Story” tells the classic tale of fierce rivalries and young love in 1957 New York City. This reimagining of the beloved musical stars Ansel Elgort (Tony); Ariana DeBose (Anita); David Alvarez (Bernardo); Mike Faist (Riff); Brian d’Arcy James (Officer Krupke); Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank); Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino); with Rita Moreno (as Valentina, who owns the corner store in which Tony works); and introducing Rachel Zegler (Maria.) Moreno – one of only three artists to be honored with Academy®, Emmy®, GRAMMY®, Tony® and Peabody Awards – also serves as one of the film’s executive producers.
