Voici le communiqué :
Criterion is proud to announce The Complete Kubrick, an unprecedented box set bringing together Stanley Kubrick’s entire directorial output for the first time, releasing October 20, 2026.
A titan of cinema whose influence extends across visual art, philosophy, politics, technology, fashion, and beyond, Stanley Kubrick created an unprecedented string of masterpieces, from Paths of Glory to Dr. Strangelove to 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and Eyes Wide Shut. Bending disparate genres to his will, he imbued his creations with a cuttingly ironic worldview and an iconographic, mesmerizingly precise visual style, probing the anxieties, enigmas, and horrors of the twentieth century with a coolly devastating eye. The Complete Kubrick brings together the entirety of a body of work that opened popular cinema up to new realms of moral profundity and metaphysical mystery.
“The Complete Kubrick took two years to achieve, but as Kubrick fans know, one’s relationship with his films never truly ends,” said Michael Chaiken, Criterion producer. “It was an honor to be asked to produce this set and an enormous responsibility: to the fans, to the Kubrick estate, and ultimately to Kubrick himself, whose commitment to the presentation of his work remained constant throughout his life. To that end, Criterion consulted Kubrick’s closest collaborators, archival experts, and the studios that have stewarded his films across generations, ensuring that these works look and sound better than they ever have on home video. As the set’s many interviews and documentaries reveal, behind Kubrick’s darkly comic vision is a world of family, friends, and enduring creative relationships that speak to the humanist center of this singular body of work.”
Collected for the first time—The Complete Kubrick includes thirteen features and three shorts restored in 4K, with Kubrick’s original soundtracks alongside the 5.1 mixes, restored and remastered; over twenty-five hours of interviews, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes materials; and deluxe packaging illustrated with rare photographs, artwork, and documents annotated by Kubrick himself, all housed in a singular box inspired by the director’s legendary archive.

Kubrick was a meticulous archivist of his own work. He preserved virtually everything: photographs, correspondence, research materials, production documents, scripts, notes, and ephemera, all carefully organized in boxes he designed himself. Drawing inspiration from this extraordinary archive, Criterion has created a singular collection that brings together Kubrick’s complete finished filmography in a form designed to be explored, studied, and treasured.
In addition to the Complete Kubrick box set, Criterion will release a limited collection of Kubrick-inspired merchandise. Further details will be announced in the coming months.
To further celebrate the release, Criterion will launch a dedicated Kubrick playlist on Criterion’s YouTube Channel. The content will explore Kubrick’s films, creative process, collaborators, and legacy, while offering audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Complete Kubrick.
More than a box set, The Complete Kubrick is an invitation into the world of Stanley Kubrick—his films, his artistic vision, and the extraordinary archive he left behind.
