Sony Pictures Canada annonce pour le 19 janvier 2021, le film 2012 en combo 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray. Réalisé par Roland Emmerich, il met en vedette John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover et Woody Harrelson.
Des pistes sonores anglaise et française seront disponibles.
En 2009, le géologue américain Adrian Helmsley fait une découverte étonnante : la croûte terrestre, soumise aux radiations solaires, commence à se réchauffer de manière inhabituelle. Cela pourrait causer, à court terme, un renversement des pôles. En 2012, l’auteur de science-fiction Jackson Curtis, ses enfants et son ex-femme, qui vivent en Californie, sont les premières victimes de ce dérèglement qui cause de nombreux tremblements de terre et des tsunamis mais que le gouvernement a caché à la population. Alors qu’ils tentent de rejoindre un cargo censé sauver la race humaine, Helmsley poursuit son travail auprès du Président des États-Unis.
