Sony Pictures Canada annonce pour le 22 juin 2021, le film The Unholy (Sanctuaire) en Blu-ray et DVD. Réalisé par Evan Spiliotopoulos, il met en vedette Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Cary Elwes, William Sadler, Katie Aselton, Christine Adams et Diogo Morgado.
Des pistes sonores anglaise et française (Européenne) seront disponibles.
En 1845, une jeune femme est brûlée vive sur le bûcher après avoir été accusée d’avoir des dons de guérisseuse d’origine démoniaque. En 2018, Alice, une jeune femme atteinte de surdité, retrouve soudainement ses facultés ainsi que celle de guérir les gens. Coïncidence? Le journaliste Gerry Fenn va tenter d’élucider le mystère de cette intrigante histoire qui relève du miracle ou du mensonge.

SYNOPSIS
THE UNHOLY, based on James Herbert’s best-selling book Shrine, follows a young hearing-impaired girl who is visited by the Virgin Mary and can suddenly hear, speak and heal the sick. As people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits a small New England town to investigate. As terrifying events begin to happen all around him, he starts questioning if these miracles are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister.
